Home Security for Renters/Homeowners

Having a security system in your apartment can give you the peace of mind you need! You may be thinking: do I have to drill holes, pay for professional installation, or have to do some DIY in the apartment? With the following options, you don't have to worry about any of those concerns because installation is very user-friendly! Here are some security options that we recommend for our renters.

Alarm Detection Systems, INC

ADS has many variations of security combos you might like. From the simple motion or entry detectors, to a fully loaded system, they can do it all at an affordable price. Subscriptions can be around $40 a month depending on how elaborate you'll want to go. They are one of the largest business alarm system and home security firms in the country. They evaluate your needs, and will suggest something that suits you.

Simplisafe

Simplisafe is a great option for several reasons: It's reliable, it has cell and battery backup, and the phone app controls if the system is on wifi. Starter kits begin for around $200, or you can build and customize your system. If you want to add cameras, Indoor cams start at $99 each. Outdoor cameras feature 1080p resolution, a 140-degree wide range, and they will run you $169. The App is also user-friendly. Easy to navigate even if you have multiple systems in one account.

Wyze Home Monitoring

 (206) 339-9646

Wyze Home Monitoring is one of the, if not the most, affordable home security kits. It’s simple to install and comes with everything you need to protect your home. If you pay $59 upfront for the professional monitoring, the system and its hardware are free (usually costing $49.99). The starter kit comes with the Hub, keypad, two contact sensors, and a monitoring sensor. Plus, just like the SimpliSafe App, the Wyze App is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and has easy-to-control o ptions - all the information you need is included.

ADT Command

This option is for someone who just wants to pay upfront and have someone handle everything else. The upfront payment starts at $599 and the monthly fees are around $59. They’ll come to your place twice, one time for a review, and the next for installation. The customer service is unlike any other. They are always on call and ready to help you with whatever you need. It's the most expensive option but if you want to just pay the money, and just set it and forget it, ADT Command is the one for you.
